{Wordless Wednesday - Date Weekend}

So, if you read my past post then you'll know I was able to call in a favor to a friend...that favor got us a room in this hotel:

The room was okay...yes, just okay...I know beggars can't be choosers, but I expected more from a Marriott, honestly:

After The Man got off work, I told him about the surprise!! He met me at the hotel and freshened up before we walked about 4 blocks to meet friends at their favorite bar/restaurant:

Around 11:30p, though, I was super hungry and the place above did not serve food after 10p - ugh!! One of our friends drove us off at our hotel and we proceeded to walk around to find food. Neither one of us really knew a lot about the area so we were hoping to find something still open. Pizza sounded good - and we came across THIS fabulous hole in the wall:

As we were leaving the haven of pizza, we encountered a gay fight...if you know anything about fights, you will know that gay fight are MUCH different than straight fights...I was kind of afraid for my life:

All-in-all...a VERY interesting weekend and a MUCH needed chance to relax!!

Lesson #117 - Space Is Precious

Well, the newest tenant in my townhouse moved from Orlando. While he lived there, he owned a condo and had fully furnished it with some of the most expensive furniture from Ethan Allen. Kudos to him for being able to afford it...I know I definitely could NOT go that far!

Anywho, when he moved into the townhouse, he asked if I could move all of my furniture out so he could bring his items in...of course!! We agreed that I would move all my things by July 28th and he would be moving all of his things in on the 29th. That didn't happen as planned because The Man was super busy at work and I am almost 5 months pregnant - so lifting wasn't on my to-do list!!

Thankfully, the tenant was driving his things from Florida in a uhaul. When he made it back to teh casa, he realized that I wouldn't be able to move my things until the 30th. I get a phone call the evening of the 29th - and it was my tenant...he says to me, "Would it be okay if we load your things into the uhaul and then bring them over tomorrow morning?"

I'm sorry, did you just offer to move my things into a uhaul, drive them over to my other house and then unload everything for me?!?! Um...yes, please (cue rays of light from the heavens and angels singing)!! On the list of things coming over was a sweet microfiber couch with matching ottoman, a 70 inch HD1080 TV, two large lamps, a small coffee table, an area rug, a large wine rack and an array of random art work.

Lets just forget for a second that this casa is already fully furnished - MANY times over (we have 6 dressers of various sizes, 5 couches, 4 queen sized beds, 3 cribs, 2 recliners, and a friggin partridge in a pear tree!!) - I completely didn't even realize that we would need space for all of my stuff...until the truck arrives and items start pouring out of it!!

For now everything is in a place - though, not necessarily it's final location! I have started listing items on Craiglist and eBay...I just need to get rid of a lot of this crap. I'm not saying it isn't useful - because it is still in great shape...but I have no room for it all!!

Any other website suggestions where I could list some of these things??

{Monday Minute - Life Edition}

Monday Minute

Phew - finally caught up - HORRAY!!! The co-host for this week's Monday Minute is Jenn from Brown Eyed Girl

- Describe your life in one word.
Rollercoaster - is that one word?!?!

- Is there something you wish you had learned how to do as a child?
I really wish my mom would have taught me how to speak Japanese...I could have worked for the State Department or something!! Is there anything cooler than a blonde-haired blue-eyed girl speaking fluent Japanese?!?!

- Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
My father has been and continues to be the biggest influence on my life. I really respect his opinions and points of view. I always go to him for advice and as a shoulder to cry on - and he has always been there for me.

- What is your greatest dream/hope/aspiration?
I just want my children to be happy. My greatest wish is for them to reach their full potential - get themselves to a great place in life - and follow whatever dreams they have for themselves!

and finally...
-Do you believe you have reached your potential? Why/why not?
Since I'm still not working (I know, cry you a river...I get it) I don't feel as though I've reached my full potential yet. I am still in my 20's as well and I think that if I felt I had reached my full potential, I'd be lying to myself. Even if I'm in my 70's and retired, I don't think I will have reached the peak of my life. There are always lessons to be learned and experienced to go through...at every stage in life.
